As you may know, Looxii is part of the inaugural class of Shotput Ventures. This past Monday was the program’s demo day and all eight Shotput companies presented to an audience of 120+ investors, entrepreneurs, and members of the press. The experience within the accelerator was nothing short of amazing. While Daniel and I have a good deal of experience rapidly producing apps and presenting to decent-sized audiences, we’ve never done these things within the context of a business.

We received a good amount of feedback, both positive and negative, and came away with tons of useful stuff that we’re still sorting through. It really felt like the closing of a chapter, but that feeling was short-lived. We realize that we’re only three months into our business and now it’s all about the business. In the coming months we plan to hit several milestones that are going to make our social web dashboard a stronger analytical and communicative platform.

Shotput leaves us with a wealth of quickly accrued experience and a good deal of confidence. If we can do this much in a few months, we can only make our business better. We also owe a huge, HUGE thanks to the Shotput Team, each member gave us invaluable advice regarding our direction and helped us build a strong foundation for Looxii. These guys are not only doing great things for these young businesses, but the Atlanta community as a whole.

Check out impressions of Shotput’s Demo Day, and each of the eight companies, from Techdrawl, David Cummings, Sanjay Parekh, and Lance Weatherby.
